I think we have the same Chatfield family. My husband's great grandfather was Harry Chatfield (described as a jeweller in the 1881 census)and his son was also Henry/ Harry who came to Australia with his wife and child in about 1920.
Let me know if you need any information and maybe you can help us in our search.

http://www.users.on.net/~ahvem/Fisheries/Identities/Cramp.html
Cramp took an active interest in the administration of his sport. He was Vice-President and later a life member of the Southern Anglers Association. In 1919 he was appointed to board of the Fisheries Commissioners and continued his position after 1927 when the Government amended the Fisheries Act to create a Sea Fisheries Board but left responsibility for inland fisheries with the renamed Salmon and Freshwater Fisheries Commission. Cramp retired from this position in 1931 and was replaced by his second son Harold. Harold served under his older brother Harry who was the first chairman of this Commission and also Secretary of the STLAA. Harry Wilfred CRAMP married Lillian Edith Farrell in 1901. His service to the Tasmanian trout fishery is commemorated by memorial gates at the Plenty salmon Ponds. Harry led the Commission for 20 years. In 1953 the chairmanship of the Commission passed to George Chatfield Cramp, a grandson of William and a nephew of Harry. (George Chatfield CRAMP was born in 1904, the same year his parents George CRAMP and Edith Mawle were married.)
As the founder of this dynasty William Thomas Cramp has been called the ‘father of fishing’.. He was an active member of the Memorial Congregational Church in Hobart and for 59 years a prominent member of the Independent Order of Rechabites. His philanthropic interests also included the Friendly Society movement. Cramp died in Hobart in June 1935 aged 86 and is buried at Cornelian Bay Cemetery. Harry W Cramp died in Blackburn Victoria in 1962 and George Chatfield Cramp in 1987.)

AWARDS AND CITATIONS
Distinguished Service Cross
Awarded for actions during the World War II
The President of the USA of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to Captain (Armor) Henry H. Chatfield (ASN: 0-456081), USA Army, for extraordinary heroism in connection with military operations against an armed enemy while serving with the 66th Armored Regiment, 2d Armored Division, in action against enemy forces on 22 and 23 November 1944, in Germany. With only 7 tanks remaining after 6 days of heavy fighting and supported by one rifle company, Captain Chatfield launched a coordinated infantry-tank attack against a strongly entrenched and reinforced German battalion. Constantly exposing himself to artillery, mortar, and rifle fire, he executed a daring double envelopment with his meager force which resulted in the capture of 95 Germans and the killing or wounding of many others. On numerous occasions, he deliberately exposed himself to heavy fire, forcing the enemy to disclose their positions, thus enabling his tanks and infantry troops to destroy innumerable hostile strongpoints. Captain Chatfield's intrepid leadership, personal bravery and zealous devotion to duty exemplify the highest traditions of the military forces of the USA and reflect great credit upon himself, the 2d Armored Division, and the USA Army.

A ship of 924 tons, Bebington was built in 1859. She had, amongst her many passengers, the unenviable nickname of "The Old Tub" and was one of the slowest boats on the New Zealand immigrant run. Even under very favourable conditions, she still took longer than most to make the voyage out. In addition she was dogged by ill-fortune. Collisions with other ships, storms, outbreaks of typhoid and short supplies all at one time or another plagued "The Old Tub". Bebington made eight voyages to New Zealand of which three were to Lyttleton, two to Wellington and one each to Dunedin, Auckland and Napier. On her arrival in Auckland on July 15th 1876, Bebington was met by the Health Officer at Rangitoto Reef. There being typhoid and 67 cases of measles on board he sent her into quarantine on Motuihe Island where she remained for 5 weeks.

SEYMOUR COAL & GRAIN CO.
The history of this successful organization is in the main the story of the business career of its president and founder, Henry Oliver Chatfield, who was born in Bethany, April 28, 1876, son of Henry W. and Addie Blackman Chatfield. He lives at 47 Washington avenue.

First, he conducted a general store in Woodbridge for one year, after which he carried on a grocery business in the Buckingham building, Bank street, from August 1, 1901, under his own name, until 1919, when the Seymour Grain & Coal company was organized, and the business was moved to its present location, 88-102 Main street opposite the post office. Officers of this concern are the same today as when instituted under the new designation on Feb. 25, 1919, to wit: H.O. Chatfield, president; F.F. Herlihy, treasurer, and Miss Katherine O'Brien, secretary.

H.O. Chatfield married Mary H. Treat, of Oxford, Nov. 19, 1906, and now has five children: Olive R. (Mrs. Mac Bissell), born Feb. 9, 1908; Henrietta Maye (Mrs. Christian Drummer), born Sept. 1, 1911; Henry T., born Sept. 1, 1912; Horace Minotte, born May 4, 1917; and Harriet Emily, born Jan. 17, 1922. All but Harriet, still too young, have been graduated from the Seymour high school, and Henrietta got her diploma from the New Haven state normal school and taught in the public schools of Seymour until June, 1935, when she retired because of her marriage. Horace entered Wesleyan University as a freshman in September, 1935.

H.O. Chatfield has belonged to Mechanics Lodge, No. 73, I.O.O.F., for 38 years, and to the Woodbridge Grange for 40 years. During his 35 years' residence here he has been progressive and civic minded, always keeping abreast of the times.

In the 1880s he formed a business, manufacturing shellac and worked in that business all his life. He was known for his defense of denatured alcohol during Prohibition, the substance begin necessary to the cutting and development of shellac. Chatfield distinguished himself also with his charitable work in Elizabeth. Adjutant Henry Whitney Chatfield of Bridgeport, went out as a private in the Seventeenth at the age of eighteen. Being a young man of education, he was detached for service under Adjutant Wilcoxson, and afterwards at the headquarters of Adjutant-Gen. Meisenburg, At Gettysburg, Lieut-Col. Fowler was shot dead by his side: Chatfield's horse was killed, his haversack torn in pieces, and a Revolutionary sword at his side broken into fragments; yet he was unharmed. While on Morris Island, he volunteered with the other officers of the brigade to storm Fort Sumter, when its defenders were bewildered under the first crash of Gilmore's batteries. In Florida, he was adjutant of the brigade. Gen. Noble writes of him, "The loss of young Chatfield was sadly felt by a large circle of friends in and out of the army. He was a true man and a brave soldier, who served from convictions of duty and patriotic devotion. With a heart true as steel, and brave as the bravest, there was a charm of genial gentleness which attracted all, and made him friends wherever he went."

The Mercury (Hobart, Tas. : Thursday 13 June 1907)
DEATH OF CAPTAIN H. W. H. CHATFIELD.
The death is announced from Melbourne of Captain H. W. H. Chatfield, well known in this port as once an officer who had spent practically half his days in the service of the Union Steamship Company of New Zealand. Prior to his entering the Union Company's service, Captain Chatfield acted under Messrs. McMeckan and Blackwood, with whom he was employed for about 15 years, and with the Union Company he remained some 25 years, thence until his retirement, which took place in 1904. When the Prince of Wales (then the Duke of York) visited Australia and New Zealand, in 1901, Captain Chatfield was the officer chosen to pilot the Ophir round New Zealand. His resignation was tendered early in 1904, owing to ill-health, which would have interfered with the full performance of his duties, and his final trip was made in command of the s.s. Mooraki, which arrived at Hobart on March 30 of that year. The following morning, the captain was tendered a complimentary farewell by the then Master Warden (Captain T. M. Fisher), and the wardens of the Marine Board of Hobart, and the speeches and expressions of regret at his retirement then made marked the high repute in which he stood with the more prominent members of the shipping community. Captain Chatfield was at the time of his retirement one of the oldest skippers of the Union Steamship Company. After his retirement he was appointed one of the assessors of the Marine Court.

PRESENTATION TO CAPTAIN CHATFIELD.
While the Royal Yacht Ophir was at anchor at Port Adelaide, and just prior to the embarkation of the party for the South Australian capital, their Royal Highnesses invited Captain H. W. H. Chatfield to the State cabin, and requested his acceptance of a token of recognition of the manner in which he had dis- the duties of pilot from the time the Ophir left Sydney harbour to her arrival in South Australian waters, occupying a period of five weeks. The presentation took the form of a silver card tray, with an inlaid centre of gold, on which were chased likenesses of the Duke and Duchess, and further ornamented with the Royal coat of arms. The gift was supplemented by a richly executed photograph, signed by the Heir-Apparent and the Duchess. Captain Chatfield, who speaks highly of the social qualities of the Royal pair, and their care for those aboard the yacht, left by the s.s. The Register (Adelaide, SA : Friday 30 May 1902)
Among the homeward passengers by the Oruba is Capt H. W. Chatfield, on his way home to bring out the Union Company's new boat, the Moraki, a 4,300-ton passenger steamer, of the twin screw type, which is now being built at Dumbarton, and will probably be ready by the latter end of August. She will run in the New Zealand and interstate trade. Capt. Chatfield's experiences of Australia date back as far as 1862. To come down a little later, he was at Port Ade- laide in the steamer Omeo, which many old Portonians will remember, in 1870, trading between Adelaide and Melbourne. She was chartered by the Government to run to Port Darwin, and was the first vessel that went up the Roper River. Her work was in connection with the overland telegraph expedition. Later the Omeo ran between Adelaide and Melbourne. Capt. Chatfield was afterwards on the steamer Claude Hamilton, now known as the Albany. He joined the Union Company in 1898, and has been in the service ever since. His last command was the Warrimoo. Capt. Chatfield went ashore for a couple of hours on Thursday to renew acquaintance with old friends, among whom, was Pilot Boord, with whom he was pleasantly associated in the bygone Territorian days.

The Sydney Morning Herald, NSW : Tuesday 5 April 1904
Captain Chatfield, of the steamer Moeraki, who has just retired from the service of the Union Company, received a presentation of a handsome timepiece from the directors and executive officers at Dunedin a few days ago. The Hon. George McLean, in making the presentation bore testimony to Captain Chatfield's splendid record of 25 years service since he joined the company as master of the old Ringarooma when that vessel was taken over from McMeehan, Blackwood, and Co , in 1879. The Hon Mr McLean also said there had been one or two incidents in Captain Chatfield's career somewhat out of the usual course of a ship master's experience, when his skill judgement indomitable courage had been the means of saving valuable lives and property Captain Chatfield who is relinquishing command on account of his health, said he cherished his connection with the Union Company, and found it very hard to give up his work.
