She married (2) JOSEPH GEORGE HOUCK 1899 in Spokane, Spokane County, Washington. He was born August 1850 in New York, and died Aft. 1927 in Mehama, Marion County, Oregon.

OBITUARY

Seralda Caroline Houck was the daughter of John & Sarah Marble who crossed the plains to Oregon in 1852 [see DLC #4956]. She was born 07 Jan 1859 at Portland, OR. In 1874 she married William Chatfield and they had 2 daughters, both of whom died in early childhood. The Chatfield home was at Goldendale, WA where Mr. Chatfield died in 1898. She was married in 1899 at Spokane, WA to George Houck, moving thence to Tacoma where she lived most of her married life. She was survived by her husband, a stepsister, 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren.

John Milton MARBLE was born in February 1829 in Fulton Co., New York, USA. He died on 20 June 1902 at the age of 73 in Goldendale, Klickitat Co., Washington, USA. He was buried in Ioof Mountain View Cmtry., Goldendale, Klickitat Co., Washington, USA. John Milton Marble, son of Butler Emery Marble and Mary Jenette Laws married Sarrah Ann Nelson, daughter of David F. Nelson and Mahethalem, on February 20, 1853 in Oregon Territory.

John Milton Marble came to the Oregon Territory December 1, 1852, a month after his father Butler Emery. He was a blacksmith, machinist and built the Klickitat Roller Mills. Adelia (Deley) is in his will as a niece that he had raised. She was the daughter of Ansil Sylvester Marble.

The funeral of John M. Marble was held on Saturday last, at the residence, Rev. Nickelson delivering an appropriate sermon. The remains were laid away to rest at the Odd Fellow's cemetery on the hill. Mr. Marble was a very estimable man, and held in high respect by the people of this city. He had lived in the town since 1871, and had been engaged in blacksmithing and machinery work all these many years, and at the same old stand he started in at in 1871. Owing to a severe sickness he had not been able to work for the past year or two.
