Julius A. DeDeyne, 82, of Las Vegas, passed away May 29, 2011. He was born Aug. 21, 1928, in Wheatland, Wis., and had been a resident in Nevada since 1969. He was a retired carpenter and served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers; and three sisters. Julius is survived by his wife, of 60 years, Elaine DeDeyne; son, Ron and his wife, Karen; daughters, Sharon and her husband, Steve, Jill and her husband, Kevin, and Kelly and her husband, Bruce; brother, Richard (Shirley); eight grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 6, at Christ Lutheran Church, 111 Torrey Pines Dr., Las Vegas, NV 89107.

OBITUARY

DEKALB -- Mrs. Jane Dee Lindsley, 85, of Pine Acres Retirement Center died July 16, 1970 at Pine Acres. She was born Nov. 17, 1884 at Rochelle the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John (Bridgette) Dee.
In October of 1907 she was married to Leslie John Chatfield at Rochelle and made their home in Sycamore. Mr. Chatfield passed away in 1927. In 1934 she married Edward A. Lindsley who died in 1940 in Chicago. Since 1940 she has made her home with her daughter , Mr. C. Edward Raymond in DeKalb.
Mrs. Lindsley was a member of St. Mary's Church and the Altar and Rosary Society.
Survivors are her daughter Mrs. C. Edward (Katherine) Raymond; two brothers, John Dee of Chicago and Stephen Dee of Rochelle; two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
She was preceded by her parents, one son, John Dee Chatfield; two brothers and a sister.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 18 at St. Mary's Church with Rev. P. William McDonnell officiating. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Rochelle. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Ronan-Moore Mortuary, DeKalb.

Mr. Deets had resided in Long Point the past nine years, operating a grocery store in that community, until last New Years Day when fire destroyed the building.
He graduated from the University of IL with the class of 1915.
Mr. Deets was a member of the Christian Church at Long Point, and of the Leslie G. Woods Post of the American Legion in Streator.

Friends here learned that Mr. Deets had suffered a severe heart attack a few days ago, and was placed in a hospital at Streator for care. He seemed to be recovering nicely, and on Monday the doctors decided he was well enough to drive home alone. He started for Long Point, it was stated, and on the way had a head-on collision with the car occupied by Mr. Blackman and Mr. Patterson. Although Mr. Deets was conscious for some time before his death, he did not know just what had happened.

Joseph Deets, said to be the wealthiest farmer in Mercer county, died May 8, 1909, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Charles Bruington, at Rio, aged 78 years. He had been in poor health for about a year. He was born in Pennsylvania in 1831, and came to North Henderson township in 1854, buying eighty acres of land a mile west of North Henderson. At the time of his death he was the owner of 1900 acres of land, all of it in Mercer county except about 200 acres near Cameron in Warren county. His estate was estimated at least a half million dollars, and some put it as high as a million.

He left six children; Alva Deets of Cameron, Joseph E. Deets of North Henderson, Mrs. Charles Bruington of Rio, Mrs. Gilbert Higgins of North Henderson, Mrs. Augusta Flake of Warren, Minn. and Mrs. Arch Wray of Alexis. His funeral was held at the Methodist church in North Henderson, with burial in the cemetery south of that place.
