Charles F. Galey of Frankfort Rt. 7, died in his home Wednesday morning at 6 o'clock at the age of 73. He had been ill for five months.
Mr. Galey was a native of Parke (there is not a "Parke" County Illinois, I believe it should be Clark County, where his parents formerly lived) County, Ill., the son of Francis M. and Naomi Simpson Galey. He married the former Stella M. Lamb on Oct. 13, 1913.
He came to Clinton County in 1916. In 1958 he retired after 32 years in the employ of the Ingram-Richardson Co. He belonged to the First Church of the Nazarene, and had been a member for 44 years.
He is survived by his widow; three foster sons: Gearren Bodish of Camp LeJeiune, N.C., Ronald Reagan of Ft. Devens, Mass. and Harry Sebree of Frankfort Rt. 7, and four daughters: Mrs. Sibyl Coffman of Frankfort Rt. 1 and Mrs. Mildred Barnaby, Mrs. Pauline Alley and Mrs. Helen Huffer, all of Frankfort Rt. 7.
He leaves four sisters: Mrs. Mae Ireland. of Midland, Mich. and Mrs. Pearl Wilson, Mrs. Hazel Gaines and Mrs. Ruby Myers, all of Frankfort; five brothers: Toney, Loney and Ralph Galey of Frankfort, John Galey of Casey, Ill., and Floyd Galey, of Danville, Ill.; 11 grandchildren and 15 great- grandchildren.
A grandson and a brother, Frank, preceded him in death.

Helen Frances Huffer, 78, of Frankfort, died Saturday, September 30, 2006 at St. Vincent Frankfort Hospital Emergency Room, Frankfort.
Born in Frankfort on February 16, 1928, she was the daughter of Charles Francis & Stella Mae (Lamb) Galey. She married Marvin E. Huffer in Frankfort on December 13, 1945, and he survives.
She was a homemaker and spent several years camping and helping at Mill Run Campground near Thorntown. She enjoyed arts and crafts, was a talented seamstress, and was an avid bingo player. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Frankfort and also a longtime member and past president of the Eagles Auxiliary in Frankfort.
Survivors are also children Daniel Eugene Huffer and wife Rita "Cookie" and Lori Ann Amos and husband Clayton Jr., all of Frankfort, Stella Irene Bushong and husband Monty and Lisa Renee Barrett, all of Thorntown; nine grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and four great step-grandchildren; and sisters Mildred Barnaby of Mulberry and Pauline Alley of Frankfort.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Sibyl Coffman.

Mildred Lorene Galey Barnaby, 93, of Mulberry Health and Retirement Community, died at 4:55 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6, 2009, at Home Hospital, Lafayette.
She was born Dec. 11, 1915, in Casey, Clark County, Illinois, to Charles Francis and Stella Mae Lamb Galey. She attended school in the one-room schoolhouse at Mannix Corner (corner of Indiana 38 and Indiana 39).
She married Paul F. Chatfield in 1933, and he preceded her in death. She married Ralph R. Barnaby and he also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Barnaby worked at the National Cigar Factory and Jules Simons, retiring in 1982. She lived with her daughter and her family for 55 years until moving to Mulberry Health and Retirement Community in March of 2008.
She was a member of First Pilgrim Holiness Church and also attended First Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, listening to gospel music and being with her family.
Surviving is a daughter, Mary A. Goodnight of Mulberry; four grandchildren, Rick (Vicki) Goodnight of Hubert, North Carolina, Marsha (Grant E.) Burkhardt of Nashville, William R. Goodnight of Mulberry and Tammatha (Ray) Watkins of West Lafayette; seven great-grandchildren, Jessica (Chris) June, Amanda Goodnight, Christopher Burkhardt, Shelby Watkins, Dustin Watkins, Tanner Watkins and Skyler Watkins.
She was preceded in death by one son, Robert F. Chatfield; two sisters, Sybil J. Coffman and Helen Huffer; and one great grandson, Joshua Watkins.

SHREWSBURY, Mass. - Arthur Gall, 91, died peacefully Dec. 8, 2010, at home, after having surpassed his goal of living until he was 90. He was born April 3, 1919, in Burnstead, N.D., to Edward and Pauline Stockburger Gall. There were five boys in Art's family, Edward, Arthur, Leo, Ervin and Noyal. Leo and Noyal survive him. Art was raised on the family farm in Burnstead, N.D., attended school in Burnstead, N.D., and graduated from Wishek High School in 1938. After graduation Art taught school in Burnstead, N.D., and helped on the family farm until he enlisted in the Navy in 1942. Art assumed many roles in the Navy, including fire-fighting instructor, supply manager and radio technician. When his superiors realized his skill in working with radios and his gift for fixing things, Art was assigned responsibility for maintaining the transmitter on Johnston Island, a primary mode of communication to the mainland. Art was proud to have served his country and told many stories of his life in the Navy, including one journey on the ship when, during a storm, a huge wave nearly washed him into the Pacific Ocean. He was stationed in Hawaii for most of his enlisted years. Upon returning to civilian life, Art took advantage of the GI Bill and attended North Dakota State University, where he met Mary Jane Shurr, who he married Nov. 26, 1947.
Art is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jane. Art and Jane nurtured four children, all of whom are married, Brenda and Richard Angotti of Millinocket, Karol and Robert Wollenburg of New York City, Dean and Elaine Gall of Christiansburg, Va., and Fae and David Nason of Shrewsbury, Mass. Art will be lovingly remembered by his 11 grandchildren, who he adored, Giovanni Angotti, Melissa Angotti Barton, Mario Angotti, Damaris Wollenburg Maclean, Matthew Wollenburg, Stephan Wollenburg, Evan Gall, Tyler Gall, Joshua Nason, Benjamin Nason and Paul Nason. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Cailan and Owen Barton.
Private interment with military honors will be at Maine Veterans Cemetery, Augusta.

Age 100, former resident of Aurora for 13 years, died Thursday, July 8, 2004 at St. Dominic Hospital, Jackson Co., Mississippi.
Funeral services will be in Jackson, with interment next to her husband, Albert Gandrau, in River Hills Memorial Park, Batavia. Graveside service at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, July 13, 2004 with Rev. Steve Miller officiating.
Mrs. Gandrau was born June 5, 1904 to Eugene and Anna Rhian in Ponoka, Alberta, Canada.
Mrs. Gandrau was preceded in death by her husband; five brothers; and one sister.
Survivors are her daughter, Joyce Gandrau Young of Tyler, TX; son, George E. (Gene) Gandrau of Jackson; two sisters, Margaret Smith of Walnut Creek, CA, and Anna Mae Driscoll of Stevensville, MD; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
