They would spend a week of the summer back in Memphis at the Cottington's. Karen Ann Young (now Phillips), daughter of James Young, who was never quite sure of her family's connection to the Cottingtons during their visits, still remembers those vacations as "quite a different experience from where I lived in Detroit! We had a lot of fun."

John was born in 1929. He was a US Army veteran, serving on a tank crew and as a photographer during the Korean War. After the war, he was employed by Champion Paper Company and absolutely loved every minute of it until his retirement in 1988.

John was an avid hunter, golfer and boater. He especially enjoyed hunting with his sons during deer season in southern Ohio. John was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Barbara C. Young, and her children, Mark and Sheryl Chatfield; his children, Patti Cox (Jim), John C. (Sheila), James (Pat), Stephen and Daniel; his sister, Peggy Keller; ten grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

John was a member of East Naples United Methodist Church where he served as an usher for many years.

His ashes will be scattered in the gulf in a private ceremony. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Margaret Warren, age 79, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 20, 2016. Margaret was always quick with a smile and a laugh. She very simply loved people, and that love was reflected back to her by so many during her life. She will be deeply missed by family and friends. Margaret was predeceased by her parents, Chatfield and Irene Young; her husband, David Warren; and her daughter, Pamela Thompson.
She is survived by her daughter Sherrie (Jonathan) Krieger; her son-in-law Ronald Thompson; her brother Robert (Cathy) Young; and her grandchildren Courtney (Daniel) Ellison, Brittany (Jeff) Snyder, Elizabeth Krieger and David Krieger; and great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on February 8, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 2900 Burton SE with Rev. David Fleming officiating. A luncheon will follow. The family extends a special thanks to Pastor Fleming and all of Margaret's very kind and loving caregivers at Crystal Springs Dementia Care.
