She enjoyed gardening and cooking.
Surviving are her children, Pat Randall, Portland, Carmen Smith, Waldport, and Stephen Chatfield, Roanoake, Va.; sister, Rose Seitze, Medford; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil T. Bratton.

Auguston Stevens was born 05 Feb 1804 in Wheeling, West Virginia. He moved to Bastrop, Louisiana, with his family about 1845 and died there of yellow fever on 20 May 1849. His first and only wife was Sarah Ann Hill Armstrong, daughter of Matthew Armstrong. Sarah Ann's grave is next to Auguston's grave.

According to page 41 of the book, Looking Backward: Memoirs of the Early Settlement of Morehouse Parish, by C.C. Davenport (Press of the Mer Rouge Democrat, Bastrop, Louisiana, 1911), "The first to open a store in the new town [of Bastrop, Louisiana] was Augustus [sic] Stevens."
