FUNERAL SERVICES FOR MRS. CHATFIELD MONDAY.
The funeral of Mrs. Fred Chatfield, of Bankston, Iowa, who died at Mercy Hospital Friday morning, after an illness of one week, will be held tomorrow morning from the home of C. [Charles, her son] Chatfield, 244 Johnson Avenue, at 8 o'clock to the Catholic Church at Bankston, where the coffin will be blessed. The body will be buried in the adjoining cemetery.

Mrs. Chatfield was born in Cedar County, Ia., June 18, 1871, and before her marriage she was Francis Elizabeth Riddle, daughter of the late John and Catherine Riddle. Practically her entire lifetime was spent near Bankston.

She is survived by her husband, three sons, Rowan [Roland] and Donald of Bankston, Harold at home, five daughters, Mrs. Glenn Scott, of Epworth, Mrs. J.C. Markham of this city, and the Misses Mabel, Bertha and Helen Chatfield at home, two brothers, William, Cedar Rapids and Arthur Riddle, of Muscatine, Ia., a sister, Mrs. Frank Belle, of Cedar Spring, Mich., and five grandchildren Evelyn and Herschel Markham, James, Margaret and David Scott all of this city.

Riddle was born on May 19, 1901 in Pikeville, Kentucky. He attended Pikeville College in his hometown and graduated in 1920. After college he married Adele Goeser and they had six children. He served in the US Army Air Service from 1920 to 1922. After serving in the military, he became a barnstormer. He last lived in Coral Gables, Florida. At 87 years old, Riddle came down with an illness and died a few days later, on April 6, 1989. Riddle's ashes were scattered over the Atlantic and he is remembered by a marker with his Royal Air Force cadets buried at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Arcadia, Florida

Walter Jay Riegsecker, 78, died Sunday morning, June 26, 2005, at his residence near Archbold, Ohio.
He was born on November 18, 1936 to Jacob and Eva (Kauffman) Riegsecker. He married Wanda Whitted on January 1, 1947, at her home in Fayette. They divorced in 1966 and he married Betty Double in 1972. She preceded him in death in 2003.
A veteran of World War II, he was stationed in the Phillipines in 1944, he was employed at Sauder Woodworking for 24 years, retiring in 1992.
Surviving are three daughters, Louise Wirick of West Unity, Janene Ely of Montpelier and Mrs. Mick (Alyse) Mull of Wauseon; two sons, Noland (Linda) of Archbold and Mark (Carol) of Ayersville; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Richard (Betty) of Archbold and Marlin (Nancy) of San Diego, California; a sister-in-law, Lueen Riegsecker of Archbold; many nieces and nephews; and special friend, Millie Lugbill
