His younger brother was killed in action at Gallipoli.

CHATFIELD, RUTH H. (formally Ruth Magee Harris) was born in Montgomery, Al. November 11,1919. Ruth passed away January 31, 2013. She is survived by her brother Phillip and sister Nell and sons George M. Chatfield III, of NC., and Walter P. Chatfield of Helena AL. along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ruth was a home maker and graduated with honors from BSC in 1990 with honors at the age of 72. She has always been active in various charities and Sunday school groups. While her health remained, she attended Palisades Church of Christ in Homewood AL. She will be missed by both family and friends.
