OBITUARY
Walter A. House, age 70 years, 7 days, residing near Galveston passed away suddenly at his home, January 31,1942. He was born January 24, 1872 in Jackson Twp., Cass County, having lived there his entire life; was one of eight children of Simeon and Elizabeth House. On March 18, 1893 he was married to Nellie Eckley and to them were born four children. He had successfully engaged in farming and was active until his death. Mr. House was a member of the Otterbein U.B. church and was held in high esteem by all who knew him, leaving a large circle of friends who will sadly miss him. The wife preceded him in death, June 22, 1934. Surviving are one son and three daughters namely: Earl R. House of near Galveston; Mrs. Edna Lutz of Onward; Mrs. Cressa Rhine of near Walton and Mrs. Alta Hyman of near Galveston; nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren; one sister and three brothers; Mrs. Pearl Barnhart of Toledo, Ohio; Luther House of Grants Pass, Oregon; Orbie House of Kokomo and Ernest House of Frankfort, Mich.

William "Wilbert" "Bill" Seamore House was born October 6, 1853 in Perry County, Ohio. He moved with his parents to Nebraska when he was a small boy and then moved to Iowa when a young man.
Bill and Maggie were married January 4, 1881 in Iowa and while living there, three children were born: Florence Susan, Minnie Everline and Charles Ezra.
The family moved to Miranda in 1905, in the fall. Bill worked for Phillip Findeis in the grain elevator and the lumbar yard. A daughter, Elsie Louise was born October 25, 1907, the morning after the family moved into a new cement block house which Bill had built. This house still stands in Miranda.
In 1915, they moved to a farm southwest of Faulkton. It was known as the J.R. Ranch.
At the end of World War I, they moved close to Faulkton. In 1925, Bill and Maggie moved back to Casey, Iowa. Bill died in October of 1948 (Brainerd, MN) and Maggie died in June of 1929. They are both buried in the Damanutha Cemetery near Casey, Iowa.

Charles Houser died at his home at 1519 Beach Street yesterday at 11 o'clock. Death was caused by a stroke of paralysis. Mr. Houser was 59 years old and moved to Flint about four weeks ago from his farm near Flushing, where he had lived for the last 38 years. He was a member of the A.O.O.G of Flushing Arbor. Besides his wife he leaves his father and one son, Ray, of Flusing, and two daughters, Mrs. J.H. McKenzie of this city and Mrs. E.E. Saterline of Brent Creek.

Obituary
ADRIAN - Shirley Eileen Chatfield, age 99, of Adrian, formerly of Manitou Beach, passed away on Sept. 21, 2019, just shy of her 100th birthday, at Brookdale Adrian.
She was born on Dec. 17, 1919, in Rome Township, Mich., to Francis and Ruth (Richardson) Howard. She was a 1937 graduate of Adrian High School. On Oct. 1, 1938, in Onsted, she married Otis L. Chatfield, and he preceded her in death in 1996.
Shirley enjoyed crocheting and sewing and was a very talented seamstress. Her favorite pastimes were enjoying herself at the casino and rooting on her beloved Detroit Tigers. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sporting events, and her family will always remember her as a hard worker and how dedicated she was to her family and the family farm.
Shirley is survived by her children, Carol (Leon) Hunt of Grass Lake, Robert (Diane) Chatfield of Onsted and Barb Hauch of Manitou Beach; a brother, Frank (Joyce Howe) Howard of Jackson; eight grandchildren, Shelly, Cory, Todd, Debra, Amy, Nathan, Megan and J.R.; and 16 great-grandchildren. (Note from Cheryl Chatfield Thompson) Shelly (Hunt), Cory (Hunt), Todd (Chatfield), Debra (Chatfield), Amy (Six), Nathan (Six), Megan (Hauch) and J.R. (Frederick Morton "J.R." Hauch, II).
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and Dennison; two sisters, Marian and Ruth Esther; and a son-in-law, Fred Hauch.
Visitation for Shirley will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 23, 2019, at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2019, at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian, with Fritz Kruse officiating. Burial will be in Maple Shade Cemetery, Onsted.
Shirley's family would like to extend a special thank you to all of her friends, the staff at Brookdale and Hospice of Lenawee for all of their love and support.
