Police Commisioner's Court
Henry William Rollason, Henry Rollason, junr., and John W. Dalton, were charged with maliciously damaging and spoiling two pieces of sawn timber, of the value of two pounds, the personal property of George Cole, of Thebarton. James Pearce, a person living in Sleep's tiers, proved that he had sold the two pieces of timber to Mr Cole, in 1841. They were blue gum, nine inches square; one fifteen and a half feet, and the other eleven and a half feet long. Eli Chatfield (aged 13) saw a boy light a fire against the centre of the logs; defendants were standing near. Stephen Horn and George Dew gave evidence to the same effect. The proof of ownership not being considered sufficient, the information was dismissed.
