Service with compassion and caring to family, friends, neighbors and even those she would never meet. At the center of Hilda's life was faith and family; of her devotion to both there could be no doubt. Hilda married the love of her life, Kent MacKay Burt, on September 30, 1947 in the Cardston Alberta Canada Temple. Hilda and Kent celebrated 67 years of marriage and during that time welcomed four children, Terry (Mark) Liddle, Wendel (Kerry) Burt, Ron (Leslie) Burt and Marilyn (Dave) Beck. Their family expanded to include 18 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren. This beautiful legacy surrounded her in life and in her final hours. In addition to family, Hilda's life was blessed with a strong and unwavering faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ. Throughout her life, she was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Her beliefs shined through in all she did. Her callings in Relief Society, Primary, and Mutual found her in many leadership roles where she inspired young and old alike. A highlight in her life was serving with Kent in the New York Rochester Historical Sites Mission. Hilda was indeed a model of both strong religious devotion and deeply rooted family values. Hilda's service reflected her enthusiastic embrace of life. She could sew clothing fit for a king and garden beside any seasoned botanist. She played a "mean" game of Rook and was always "show" ready with a genuine smile and stories to make listeners laugh and cry, sometimes at the same time. She was preceded in death by her husband Kent, and two grandchildren, Stephen Burt Liddle and Rebecca Ann Liddle. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
