BEACH Miss Jeanette Helen Beach, proprietor of Beach's store at the corner of Main St. and North Ave., Owego, died suddenly at her home, 55 Church St., about 6 o'clock last Thursday evening. Miss Beach was a native of Owego and lived there during her entire life. She was born September 14, 1899, the only daughter of Hon. Otis S. Beach, former assemblyman, and Lena Writer Beach. Her father, at the time of his death, was clerk of Tioga County and proprietor of Beach's Drug Store. Mrs. Beach then operated the store until her death in 1935, after which Miss Beach became proprietor of the store. She discontinued the drug department and operated the store as an ice cream parlor and news stand. There are no immediate survivors. The funeral was held at the Van Buskirk Funeral Home, Saturday afternoon. George L. Adams, a reader of the Church of Christ, Scientist, officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery. |
