I found my way to Dynamic Drawing after I got sick in 2000 and left Melbourne in search of a more intuitive, heart-centred approach to life. I spent much of the next two years in art galleries around Australia looking at and appreciating art whilst feeling creatively blocked myself. In 2002 I came across an ad for Ron's classes and knew from the wording that this was what I was looking for and have been travelling back and forth ever since. It liberated me to be given permission to express myself without apology and I was excited to find such a potent and immediate way to connect with and express my emotions. Since then I have contributed to group exhibitions in New South Whales, Victoria and Tasmania and completed a five week residency at the Portland Arts Company in Victoria. I have also contributed two landscapes to an art auction in Hobart to raise funds for and awareness about the logging of old growth forests in the Weld Valley in Tasmania and worked as a volunteer for the wilderness Society there. The spiritual and cultural values expressed in indigenous art has also been a great influence on me and I have spent many months in the last few years living and working with indigenous artists as a volunteer in central Australia and have been profoundly affected personally and creatively by these experiences.
