Wilson Porch CHATFIELD, 88, of 88 Notch Hill Road, formerly of Woodbridge, died Sunday at Evergreen Woods Health Center after a brief illness. He was the husband of Constance Bucklin Chatfield. Born in Seymour on April 13, 1910, he was the son of the late Robert and Quinta Porch Chatfield. Mr. Chatfield was a graduate of Rumsey Hall School, the Taft School and Yale University - Class of 1932. He was the president of the F. Hallock Company for more than 50 years, chairman of the board of the former Derby Savings Bank and the Housatonic Lumber Company of Derby and served as chairman of the National Industrial Distributors Association. He was involved in many community activities including the Rotary, the Community Chest and the Griffin Hospital. Mr. Chatfield was Senior Warden of St. James Episcopal and a member of Trinity Church on the Green. He was a member of the New Haven Country Club, the Woodbridge Club, Mory’s Association and the Walton Fishing Club. Besides his wife, he leaves sons, Terry Chatfield of Hamden and Malcolm Chatfield of Derby; six grandchildren; six great-granchildren and three stepdaughters. He was predeceased by his first wife, Helen Brewster Chatfield and a son, Robert Chatfield.
