Kristfield (View posts) Posted: 4 Aug 2004 7:29PM
Classification: Query
Surnames: Chatfield
Sue: Old Chat, sounds like a Chatfield to me. Not to brag, but my father was not a nice guy either. I always thought it was from childhood that meanness. Perhaps it's just a family trait.
I am one of nine children born to Thurber Radmaine Chatfield and Vivian Jean Peet. I was born in Washington Connecticut June 2nd 1955, I now live in Washington State on Whidbey Island. My father was born in Washington Connecticut June 14th 1930 and my mother was born in New Milford Connecticut April 7th 1931.
Thurber died December 9th 1991 at the age of 61 from cancer of the lungs.
He was one of 12 children born to Thurber Redwayne Chatfield and second wife Florence Mae Tibbetts.
My grandfather was born in 1875 in Killingworth Connecticut, married in 1902 to Inez Jillson Cowie from Webster Massachusetts. They had nine children: Betsey, David Cowie CHATFIELD, George Vance Killingworth CHATFIELD, Inez,Emily Bullard (Chatfield) Woodward, Josephine (Chatfield) Garland, Mabel (name changed to Jennifer), Thomas Roderick CHATFIELD, and June (Chatfield) Philips.
Emily Bullard Chatfield Woodward followed her lineage back through the Cowie's through the Jillson's, Daggett's and Mayhew's to Governor Thomas Mayhew of Martha Vineyard 1500's. She is also registered with the Daughters of the American Revolution in Connecticut.
Owns Kristfield’s Bed and Breakfast Inn, Whidbey Island, WA, USA.
