Vivian Jean (Peet) CHATFIELD, 78, of Washington Depot, passed peacefully on February 15th at Bristol Hospital, Bristol. Vivian Jean Chatfield was born on April 7,1931 at home in New Milford. She was the daughter of the late Esther Underhill Peet Samaha of Danbury and the late Hiram Peet of New Milford. She was the eldest of five children: the late Robert Peet, Marilyn Pomeroy, Martha Palanzo and William Peet. Vivian lived in Washington Depot for over 50 years. Her former husband, Thurber R. Chatfield predeceased her in 1991. She is survived by her nine children: Lynsley Chatfield (Shirley) of Dover Plains, New York, David Chatfield of Litchfield, Dwayne (Laurie) of New Milford, June Chatfield Fitzpatrick (Felix) of Whidbey Island, Wa.,, Lawrence (Lisa) of Fresno, Calif., Thurber Chatfield of Katonah, New York, Dawn McSherry (Richard) of Burlington, Vivian Cerruto (James) of Torrington, and Hope Chatfield (Chris) of Seattle, Wa.; Vivian has 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; including many nephews, nieces, and cousins. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for 15 years with the Washington/Warren VNA. Calling hours will be at Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge Street, New Milford, on Saturday, February 20, 2010, from 4 to 6 p.m. Burial services will be private at a later date.
