Lorene was born in rural Marion County, MO. One of four children of Guy and Mae Chatfield. Growing up in or near Palmyra. Graduating from Palmyra High School. Married Lawrence E. Lowe and had four children. Gene, Ray, Virginia and Kenneth. After moving to California in 1952, she held several jobs. Tuna Cannery, Kelly's laundry and dry cleaner, and Woolworth's, then Kreske's. After moving to Ohio, she transfered to Kreske's there where she retired. Moving to Summit, Arkansas where she remained until her death from cancer. She is burried in Layton Cemetary, Yellville...

My mother, Lorene CHATFIELD, graduated from Oakridge School, (year ukn.). She was born Aug. 1, 1912 in Marion County, MO. This was an 8th grade graduation. Her brother, Ray Chatfield also graduated then. Elizabeth and Gertrude Lowe also graduated at that time. Mrs. Kate H. Cannon was the teacher. My mother, Lorene Lowe was presented with a scholarship for the highest recorded grades by Lee D. Ash, superintendent of Palmyra Schools and E. C. Bohon was County Superintendant of schools.
