Walter V. Coleman, age 70, of Maumee, died Monday, August 21, 2006, at Heartland of Perrysburg. Mr. Coleman was born in Cleveland, OH on September 19, 1935, to Walter and Lura (Barrow) Coleman. Walter earned his Bachelor of Science in Education from Bowling Green State University and his Masters in Education from The University of Toledo. Walter was a teacher in the Perrysburg School system for 28 years and also taught at Maumee City Schools for 2 years. He was a member of Maumee United Methodist Church; life member of National Education Association; Ohio Education Association; Ohio Retired Teachers Association; Northern Light Lodge #40 F&AM and Valley of Toledo Scottish Rite.
Walter is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Barbara (Bazura) Coleman; sons, Peter (Ann) Coleman of Holland, OH; Benjamin (Lauri) Coleman of Bethlehem, PA and a daughter, Lisa (Steve) Weber of Maumee. Also surviving are grandchildren, Kurt and Abby Weber and Seth and Sharon Coleman. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home 501 Conant St. Maumee on Friday, August 25, 2006, from 4-7 p.m. Northern Light Lodge #40 will conduct services following visitation at 7 p.m. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
