=====
Mary Mott was only seven when her father died and she was brought up by her mother, probably with the support of her mother's family, the Chatfields. She was nineteen when her mother died. She didn't marry and remained close to her brother Robert throughout her life, despite the large age gap of seventeen years. In 1841 she was living with Robert in his house in Upper St James Street, Brighton. When Robert died in 1843, she was left the house and all its furnishings to enjoy for the remainder of her life. Mary died in Brighton in 1850.
