Narrative
The little known about Sarah Mott comes from the journal of a fellow called John Burgess of Ditchling. He writes in January 1786 that "Sally Mott was brought from The Rookery to be buried, that the service was performed by candle-light. There was a great many people. Snow in ye morning, freze in ye evening." Sarah was buried with her grandmother, Sarah CHATFIELD, who had died twenty years earlier.
