Wednesday 14 October 1908 FIRE AT ARNOLD GROVE. Parramatta was interested in what looked like a bush fire or big burning off out Pennant Hills way it seemed on Friday last, the reflection of which was very clear and impressive. It turned out to be a fire at Arnold Grove, the residence of Mr. R. J. Mackenzie, of the Governor's Arms-road. The stables and harness room with their contents were destroyed. The insurance was over £100, and it is stated that the damage amounted to over that sum, as many articles were in the buildings which were not covered by insurance. |
