Died: at age 44, Nashville, Davidson Co., TN
Report of the Record and Pension Bureau, Surgeon General's Office, dated Nov 23, 1866 shows Seth died from Cholera Morbus, an acute infectious condition usually caused by improper diet and unsanitary conditions. Records show he was brought back from Nashville in a metallic coffin by his nephew George W. Chatfield (son of brother Rausel) who served with him in the 188th. He was buried in the McCoy graveyard. There is no stone and the exact location is unknown.
