Mrs. Freeman S. (Susan M.) Hodges (1854-1941), age 87, who had been a resident of Florida for more than half a century, residing for years at Satsuma, in Putnam County, and later in Jacksonville, died Saturday at her summer home at Cotuit, Cape Cod, Mass., following a short illness.
She is survived by two sisters and several nieces and nephews. She was the widow of the late Freeman S. Hodges, lumber and timber dealer of Satsuma, who later moved to Jacksonville and with his brother, the late Henry A. Hodges, became prominent in the business and financial circles of that city.
Funeral services were held and burial made in the cemetery at Cotuit, Mass., on Monday. (Times-Herald Obituary dtd Friday, 26 Sep 1941.)
