Isaac Grant, age 84, died Monday afternoon in the Soldiers' Home at Quincy.
When a young man, he came to Galva and for many years operated a meat market in this city. During the Great Galva fire his business was destroyed.
He served during the Civil War.
During the past three years he has spent the winter months at the Soldiers' Home, returning to Galva each spring and spending the remainder of his time at his home here.
He has made his residence in Galva continuously since coming here from LaFayette, where his parents were early settlers of this section of Illinois.
