Peter Joseph Alfred Chatfield was the son of Alfred and Caroline (Reed) CHATFIELD, of Uckfield, Sussex, he enlisted in the General Service Corps and volunteered for airborne forces.
Pte Chatfield was killed in action Operation Varsity on 24 March 1945, aged 18, and was given a field burial at Hamminkeln and was re-interred to Reichswald Forest War Cemetery on 24 April 1947.
