Lane Rites Monday
Funeral services for Virgil Lane, 31, manager of the St. Marys Maytag washing machine agency, who was killed Saturday in an automobile accident three miles north of St. Marys, will be held Monday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the Vershelden Funeral Home in St. Marys. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Topeka.
Mr. Lane was graduated from Harveyville High School in 1926 and for nine years was in business at Harveyville before going to St. Marys two years ago. He was a member of Masonic orders at St. Marys.
Lane and Bob Dalton were returning from Westmoreland where they had purchased 1939 auto tags when the accident happened.
Lane is survived by his widow, Mrs. Pauline Lane; one son, Billy Dean; two daughters, Lorna and Virjean Lane, all of the home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Lane of Harveyville; and one sister, Mrs. Mabel Kindell, St. Marys.
