John did not re-marry. He worked on the railways, initially as a fettler, then as a shunter, moving about western Qld. I have followed the AER lists for him and have found three possible children – no other records have been found for these three, and more reseach needs to be done. John spent his remaining years in Eventide Nursing Home Charters Towers where he died on 15 May 1981
