Aboriginal.
Susan was born Namoi River. Her father was Thomas SLATER, a squatter and mother was Sarah, an Aboriginal woman, no family name listed. How she came to be in Mudgee area I don't know. She was very young when she was having her first children. Were there SLATERs in the Mudgee area at all? I found a John SLATER m Mary ROBERTS 1872 reg Mudgee - a relative?
Susan had children, all registerd with BDMs. Two to Charles EVANSON in this area starting about 1871 a couple of years after William Webb died. Charles, b Wales, said his father was an Admiral or Captain in the Royal Navy so he was white He and Susan married in 1893 in Coonabarabran and both died here. All registered with BDMs.
