HANNIBAL - Lila M. Page, 93, of Hannibal, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 9:25 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2007, at the Willow Care Center in Hannibal.
Graveside funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 23, at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal. Jamie R. Page will officiate. There will be no visitation.
Mrs. Page was born on Oct. 19, 1913, near Palmyra, the daughter of L.C. Chatfield and Maggie Begley Chatfield. She married Raymond T. Page on April 5, 1930, in Hannibal, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 1, 1986.
She survived by her son Raymond E. (Jill) Page of Hannibal; her brother, Richard (Helen) Chatfield of Florissant; her grandchildren, Tana (Laramie) Cole of Wheatland, Wyo., Karen (Kenny) Oppy of Hannibal, David (Beth) Griffith of Hannibal, Charlene (Ford) Hagaman of Hannibal, Jamie (Lisa) Page of New London, Marni (Adam) Turo of Kirkwood and Ross Page of Hannibal; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Juanita Griffith; her brothers, Elmer Chatfield and Jess Chatfield; and her sister, Angie Budde.
Mrs. Page worked as a shoe cutter for the International Shoe Co. in Hannibal for several years before retiring. Later she worked at the Vogue Design Florist in Hannibal. She and her husband farmed for many years near New London. She was a member of the Hydesburg Methodist Church, where she held many of the church offices. She was a life-long resident of the area.
She loved raising hybrid iris and had won many awards for her flowers. She loved writing poetry and had several of her poems published. She enjoyed wood carving and was a wonderful seamstress, sewing many sets of clothing for herself and her family. She enjoyed canning and was a very active member of her church.
