son of Edward Marsh (1777-1861) and Ann Muggeridge (1781-1860)

Edward Marsh was baptised on 5 July 1812 in Pulborough and was the son of Edward Marsh (1777-1861) and Ann Muggeridge (1781-1860). He died aged 89 years and his death was registered as Edward Marsh in the second quarter of 1901 in the Thakeham registration district.

In 1851 the couple and their 6 children were living at Pickhurst in Pulborough. Edward Mearsh was a 38 year old agricultural labourer and Anne was 34. They both gave their place of birth as Pulborough.

The 1861 census recorded that the couple and 5 children were living at Pickhurst, Pulborough. Edward was a 48 year old agricultural labourer and Ann was 45.

When the 1871 census was recorded, Edward Marsh was a 58 year old agricultural labourer and Ann was a 54 year old nurse. They were living at Pickhurst Cottage, Pulborough along with 2 of their children. Also with them was 10 year old lodger and agricultural labourer, William Stringer.

In 1881 the couple and their son Mark were still living at Pickhurst Cottage. Edward Marsh was a 68 year old agricultural labourer and Ann was 64.

At the time of the 1891 census, Edward Marsh was a 78 year old agricultural labourer and Ann was 75. The were living at Pickhurst Cottage.

When the 1901 census was recorded the couple were on parish relief and living at Pickhurst, Pulborough. Edward was 88 and Ann was 84. Also with them was the 61 year old daughter Mary Stone who was a widow.
