Nancy (Chatfield) Zagryn, 63, of Providence, R.I., passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 13, 2020. Nancy was born in Waterbury, daughter of the late Wilbert and Helen (Gaffney) Chatfield. She grew up in Harwinton, and graduated from Bristol Central High School in 1975. Additionally, she attended Quinnipiac University and the Community College of Rhode Island.
Nancy is survived by her sons, Tyler Zagryn and wife Lauren of East Greenwich, RI, and Alex Zagryn and wife Kristen Manginelli of Fairfield. Nancy was blessed with five beautiful grandchildren, Brenton, Eva, Jaxon, Giuliana and Amalia. She also leaves a beloved brother, Robert Chatfield of Naugatuck, and sister Kathleen Chatfield of Waterbury. Nancy was predeceased by two brothers William and John and her caring sister Susan Murphy.
Nancy was a supporter for Operation Standdown and Holiday Cheer to assist with both active and non-active duty military. Nancy was an active participant of the Rotary Community Corps through the Providence Rotary Club raising funds for the arts and cultural education for local Providence clubs for children. She loved horses and assisted at Tara Farm Rescue helping people with disabilities to ride. Nancy enjoyed drawing, painting, gardening and spending time with friends and family.
A graveside service will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery, 522 Terryville Ave., Bristol, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2020. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to the R.I. ASPCA, 186 Amaral St., Riverside, RI 02915 would be appreciated. https://www.aspca.org.
