OBITUARY
Mr. Leonard O. C. Pope, whose death took place suddenly at Haberfield, was an officer in the Customs Department for 44 years. He joined the service at Moama, and after being also stationed at Echuca, became sub collector at Corowa and Wahgunyah, and remained at the last mentioned town until the abolition of border offices. He retired in June, 1935. Mr. Pope was the younger son of Mr. Charles Chatfield Pope, a former sub-collector of Customs at Newcastle.
