Remembering Aunt Dot, her many talents, her many interests, her infectious laugh, her caring spirit. AND her FABULOUS BBQ chicken!! There isn't a time I make that that the aroma doesn't remind me of BBQ's in Oakfield and Little York. Pair that with her watermelon rind pickles and you have a win- win. The last time Aunt Dot was here was memorable. It amazed me how much she and Mom looked so similar--and sounded similar too! It was wonderful to chat with her and hear about all of YOU..her pride and joy...her children, grand children and great grandchildren. Always proud of YOUR accomplishments, and what each of you have become... wonderful, well rounded individuals who give much to this world. (Of course, I still have imprinted on my brain 35 years ago and what everyone was like and doing then. ) She caught me up though, with pride in her voice, and an excitement unparalleled about grandchildren and great grandchildren. Wow. I am here to tell you Henry cousins--Your Mom so loved each and every one of you, and your progeny (she taught me that word!!!!) that you would be blushing right about now. Aunt Dot had many gifts and talents and extra activities, but nothing meant more to her than each and every one of you. She made that very clear. While I cannot be there to honor Aunt Dot, know you will be in my prayers for a long time to come. She was very very special, and each of you carry her with you by the way you live, by the deeds you do and the things you accomplish-no matter how large or small. My love and respect to all of you..my condolences which cannot erase your pain, but most of all, giving you my love for the treasure you had in her. Love, Donna
