Arlene E. (Krupa) Hayes, 75, of Mattydale, died Friday at St. Joseph's Hospital. She was a native and life resident of Syracuse. Mrs. Hayes retired in 2003 as an administrator from Onondaga Community College. She was a lifetime member and past president of the Mattydale Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
She was predeceased by her husband, Charlie, in 2008 (Find A Grave Memorial# 24629886); her parents, Helen and Joe Ponichtera; a sister, Joanne Picciotto; and brothers, Robert and Henry Krupa. Surviving are three daughters, Vicky (Deborah Duello) Hayes of Syracuse, Margaret Hayes of Mattydale and Patty (Chuck) Cerio of Baldwinsville; a son, Timothy (Karen) Hayes of Apex, NC; five sisters, Barbara Borreggine, Karen CHATFIELD, Kathy (Wayne) Leslie, Janet (Joseph) Mulcare and Marianne (John) Ricker; brothers, Richard Krupa and Joe (Pegg) Ponichtera; and grandchildren, Alex, Elizabeth, Johnny, Holly, Katie and Jack.
Services will be 7 p.m. Tuesday, December 20, at Fergerson Funeral Home.
