Narrative |
True Republican, 6 October 1906 Miss Jeanette Dee, Much Admired Young Lady of Rochelle, Is The Bride, A quiet wedding, still one of much interest to their host of friends and acquaintances here, occurred in Rochelle Tuesday evening, when Mr, Leslie CHATFIELD, of Sycamore, son of Mr, and Mrs, John CHATFIELD, and Miss Jeanette Dee, daughter of Mrs John Dee, of Rochelle, were united in marriage, The ceremony was performed at the Catholic parsonage at 7 o clock and the impressive ring ceremony was used, Miss Julia Kelly, of Rochelle, and friend, of Sterling, were bridesmaid and best man, Only immediate members of the family were in attendance, Leslie Chatfield was brought up in Sycamore, receiving an excellent education mostly in the public schools, and he has a large circle of steadfast friends who admire and respect him for his manly traits, The bride's friends and acquaintances are not confined to Rochelle, but she has not a few in Sycamore, She is a charming young lady who not only makes, but retains friends, It is needless to state she will receive a hearty welcome in Sycamore, The happy couple were obliged to be married rather quietly, as many pranks had been planned by their friends, and even then they had much difficulty in getting away, Mr, and Mrs, Chatfield took an automobile ride to DeKalb where a west bound train was caught and they will be guests of Mrs, John Chatfield s brother, Benjamin Phelps, at Omaha, for two weeks, after which they will make their home in Sycamore, where the groom is engaged in the grocery business, A reception will be given at the home of the groom on October 15, to which about 100 friends have been invited. |
