Narrative
Hazel passed away of natural causes peacefully, but unexpectedly. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Donald and is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and William Weiss of Lake Oswego, Ore., and grandsons, Richard and Trevor, Dona and Larry Granger of Anthem, Ariz., and grandsons, Jeff and Grant, and Diana and Allen McDowell of Azle, Texas and grandchildren, Kylan, Brady, and Anastasia.
Hazel was born on March 31, 1932 to Ralph and Hazel (Sites) Newbury.
On April 21, 1956, she married Donald Dale Widell. Hazel and Don spent their married life in Centralia, Wash., where they worked and raised their daughters.
Hazel was active in the Episcopal Church, the PTA, and the Elks, the Sorority, and various other clubs in the area. She was a marvelous seamstress and throughout most of her life, she made dance and Halloween costumes for her daughters and grandchildren.
After Don's death, Hazel moved to Redmond, Wash., to be close to her youngest daughter and then followed her to Azle, Texas where she passed away in a Fort Worth hospital surrounded by Diana and her family.
