Moved from Victoria to Tammin, WA with his father and settled the farm at Liveseys Siding, which is still owned by the family in 1997.

He came to Western Australia in 1898. He worked on the railways and became a ganger at Wyola. Here with his brother he established a farm and used bullocks for scrub rolling. Farming methods and the fortunes of the family are outlined in Wyola, Livesey Siding and Tammin areas.
