OBITUARY
Services for Mrs. Alice M. Shope, 85, Walton, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Thomas-Murray funeral home, Galveston. She died Saturday morning at Memorial Hospital, Logansport. Born Jan. 31, 1890, in Cass County, she was the daughter of John and Amanda Chatfield Eckley. She was married Feb. 26, 1908, to Delbert L. Shope, who survives. A lifetime resident of Cass County, she was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church. Surviving with the husband are four daughters Mrs. Lucille Carson, Margate Fla.; Mrs. Doris Tyre, Peru; Mrs. Beulah Allen, Walton; and Mrs. Dorothy Rush, Logansport; eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. Three brothers and three sisters preceded her in death. The Reverends Ora Myers and William Simpson will officiate at the services. Burial will be in the Galveston Cemetery.

OBITUARY
Delbert L. Shope, 87, 101 Gretchen St., died at 11:50 p.m. Sunday in Dukes Memorial Hospital, Peru. He had been in failing health for one year. Born Feb. 18 1889, in Cass County, he was the son of Charles and Jane (Tilley) Shope. He was married Feb. 26, 1908, to Alice M. Eckley, who died Feb. 22, 1975. He was a retired farmer and a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Lucille Carson of Margate, Fla., Mrs. Doris Tyre of Peru, Beulah Allen of Walton and Mrs Dorothy Rush of Logansport; two half-sisters, Mrs. Jessie Plank of Springfield, Ohio, and Mrs. Esther Bechdol of Yourktown; eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Thomas Murray Funeral Home, Galveston, with the Rev. Ora Myers, officiating. Burial will be in Galveston Cemetery.
