Canaan (AP) — Edward Chatfield, 88, died Saturday in a fire that destroyed his three-room frame house. Cause of the blaze was not immediately determined, fire officials said.

The fire victims were Edward Chatfield, 88, of Canaan and Mr. Cutty, of Stamford.
Chatfield died early Saturday when fire swept his three-room house. He was found by firemen and pronounced dead at the scene by Litchfield County Medical Examiner Robert Se<sic>ew.
