Find A Grave Memorial# 93472357 Hi Colin, my cousin Cheryl sent me this: > How does this sound: > Rausel/Roswell Chatfield and Sarah Ann Sheffield had 9 children; all born in NY, either in Saratoga or Ontario County. > > Daniel "Dan" Chatfield and Elizabeth Whitmore had 10 children; all born in New Haven Co., CT > > When checking info about Daniel Chatfield (1801-1867); we find him b: in New Haven Co., CT . Daniel Chatfield, (1801-1869) was baptized at Congregational Church, Oxford, New Haven, CT. Another hint that Rausel/Roswell Chatfield was probably NOT his father. > > Since Rausel/Roswell Chatfield was born, raised and had his family in New York, it seems unlikely he would have had a son born in Connecticut.

Could it be mis-transcribed? 2. Or did she have "Aloha" as a nickname? Since the stone says Alche, I am using that name in my file. 1850 Census transcribed as Alche Chatfield She is transcribed in 1870 Census as Aloha, but it could be Aloha or Alcha when looking at the page. http://interactive.ancestry.com/7163/4276912_00294/31594751?backurl=http%3a%2f%2fsearch.ancestry.com%2fcgi-bin%2fsse.dll%3findiv%3d1%26db%3d1870usfedcen%26MS_AdvCB%3d1%26rank%3d1%26new%3d1%26MSAV%3d2%26msT%3d1%26gss%3dangs-d%26gsfn%3dALOHA%2b%26gsfn_x%3d1%26gsln%3dCHATFIELD%26gsln_x%3d1%26cpxt%3d0%26catBucket%3drstp%26uidh%3dl34%26cp%3d0%26pcat%3d35%26fh%3d0%26h%3d31594751%26recoff%3d&ssrc=&backlabel=ReturnRecord CENSUS 1870: RESIDENCE: Vienna, Oneida, New York; Roll: M593_1057; Page: 516A; Image: 294; Family History Library Film: 552556 Aloha Chatfield 69 Abt. 1801 New York Fem Abienne[Abiram] Chatfield 43 Abt. 1827 New York Male Julia Chatfield 35 Abt. 1835 New York Fem 1880 Census trascribed as Alche Chatfield [with Alcha used for a correction].
