CECIL HEGARTY AT LIFE'S END BY PNEUMONIA
Two days illness from pneumonis caused the death of Cecil Hegarty, former resident of Nevada City, at a Sacramento hospital on Sunday. His passing comes as a shock to his family and friends, the seriousness of his illness being unknown to them, and news of his death was the first intimation they had that anything was amiss with him.
He was the son of Mrs. Rose Hegarty and the late George Hegarty and was born at the little town of Lake City on November 27, 1903. Most of his life time was spent in Nevada County. He moved away from nevada City a few years ago to seek employment and at the time of his death he was working in Sacramento.
Possessed of a genial personality he made friends readily and was a welcome addition to any group of young people.
The body was brought from Sacramento by the Holmes Funeral Home and taken there to be prepared for burial. The funeral was held from St. Canice Catholic Church with interment in the Catholic cemetery on West Broad Street, Nevada City.
He is survivied by his mother Rose, his widow Carmen Hegarty, a daughter, Margaret and a son Micheal, also three brothers, James, Walter and George Hegarty.
