Obituary
Services for Ruby Scott Hegarty, 78, of Grass Valley will be conducted at 2 pm Wednesday at Hooper & Weaver Mortuary, Grass Valley, with the Rev. David Davidson officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
She died Monday at a Grass Valley Medical facility. She was born April 19, 1907, in England.
Mrs. Hegarty moved to Georgetown, Calif. with her parents when she was 4 years old. Her family moved to Grass Valley in 1917, left the area for several years, then returned. She graduated from Grass Valley High School in 1925 and from Mr. St. Mary's Business Academy of Grass Valley.
She then worked for Nevada Irrigation Co. until 1942, when she began working with Bank of America. She retired after 30 years of service in 1972. She had been a collection teller prior to her retirement. Mrs. Hegarty was also a member of Episcopal Church of Grass Valley.
She is survived by daughter Rose Clark of Nevada City; brother Alec Scott of Grass Valley; two grandchildren and several distant relatives.
