-----
Mary Ann MALLYON (nee Megee) was my paternal great grandmother. Her illegitimate son, William, was my grandad, and we have no record of his father. Mary left for Australia in 1913, when my grandad, then 17, joined the Navy underage. None of our family knew he had half- brothers and sisters and we always wondered why we could find no record of Mary's death. Grandad earned the DSM for his service on the E11 submarine during WW1, although this left him suffering with shell shock. Mary left England with his two very young half brothers by Daniel MALLYON, her future husband, who was incarcerated. He must have followed at a later date. Mary came from a family of travellers, her father being Edward Megee, son of Uriah Megee who lived in a caravan on Belvedere Marshes, Kent, with his wife, Lucy. I don't know if you want any of this info, but I am very interested in any information regarding Mary's sons. I believe she had one daughter, Ruth as well. My personal email is maggieambler@googlemail.com if you would like to contact me. I am already a member of ancestry.co.uk, so don't really want to start another family tree on Geneanet.
