Lucille C. Hinrichs, age 97, formerly of Blue Island, IL died Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Riverside Medical Center’s Miller Center in Kankakee, IL. She had been a resident of Watseka, IL since 1973.

Lucille was born June 22, 1917 in Blue Island, IL, the daughter of Emil and Lillian Schuemann Schweser. She married Robert H. Hinrichs September 6, 1941. Mrs. Hinrichs had been a Girl Scout Leader for five years, a retired bookkeeper accountant, and a homemaker.

Lucille was confirmed at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Blue Island, IL in 1931 and became an active member of Faith Lutheran Church in Watseka, IL in 1973. Lucille was also a member and Chaplain of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 23, the AARP, Sunshine Club of Faith Lutheran, a lifetime member of the Iroquois Historical Society, and a Food Share volunteer.

Lucille was preceded in death by her husband Robert, her parents, and two sisters. She is survived by two daughters and a son and daughter-in-law; Nancy Chatfield-Taylor of Huntley, IL, Joan Caton of Huntley, IL, and Dr. Brian and Rebecca Hinrichs of Watseka, IL. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Denise Mor (spouse Shimon) of Sedro Woolley, WA, Dean Chatfield of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Matthew Caton (spouse Annie Caton Wong) of Brooklyn, NY, and Ross Caton (spouse Denise Houda Caton) of Vernon Hills, IL. Additional survivors include three great grandchildren and a niece, Caron Ann Hill of Tinley Park, IL and nephew Gary Wydeveld of Arlington, TX.

Visitation at Baier Funeral Home in Watseka, IL on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 from 12:00pm-1:30pm concluding with a service at the funeral home with burial to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Watseka, IL.

Memorials may be made in her name to Faith Lutheran Church Altar Guild or donor’s choice of charity.
