John (Jack) R. Quigley, 79 of Elliston, passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2013. Jack was born at St. Joseph's hospital in Deer Lodge, Montana on August 8, 1934 to John R. and Marguerite (Kirwan) Quigley. Jack, the oldest of three children, was reared in the Avon area. He attended grade school in Avon and high school in Helena. He married Janice Barton on March 17, 1953. Jack and Janice lived in the Avon and Elliston area, reared five children and divorced in 1968. Jack had a variety of jobs in his life time; he worked for his father at Frontier Town, was an airplane mechanic in Alaska, worked on the Great Northern Railroad, was an employee at the Elliston Lime Plant, and was a heavy equipment operator. A zealous personality made him a successful insurance salesman. In his later years while living in Arizona Jack repaired, rebuilt, and sold bicycles.
Jack's surviving relatives includes: sister, Kitty Ann (Quigley) Taaler and her husband Aavo of Helena; half-brother Eric Boehmer of Washington; children, Linda (Quigley) Moore and her husband Steve of Tulsa Oklahoma, John and Colleen Quigley of Elliston, Clyde and Peggy Quigley of Elliston, Robert and Chrissy Quigley of Elliston; ten grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren: Lance (Sarah) Schwabauer of Matamata, New Zealand and their children Caleb, Elisa, and Kelly Jack; LeAnn (Michael) Harrison of Helena and their children, Seth, Bryceton, Isaiah, and Jenna; John "J.R." (Janny) Quigley of Helena and their children, Kylie, Joelle, Grace, and John; Candace (Zach) Marshall of Helena and their children, Quinn, Serena, and Asher; Philip Quigley of Elliston; Julia Quigley of Elliston and her children, Skyler and Gidian; Rylee Quigley of Helena; Garrett Quigley of Bozeman; Jared Quigley of Elliston; Emily Quigley of Elliston; nieces Taegan and Nicholette; nephew Scott; cousins Jim, Sheila, Emmett, Kathy, and Theresa.
