Betty L. Kelly, 68, died peacefully March 31, 2012, surrounded by family in Fairfax.
She was born on July 17, 1943, in Duluth, Minn., to Oral E. and Valerie L. CHATFIELD, but grew up and lived for many years in Minneapolis.
Mrs. Kelly was a longtime resident of Missoula, Mont., most recently having lived in the Missoula Manor, where she was an active volunteer. Mrs. Kelly’s life was devoted to her family and friends. She had been a volunteer for the Humane Society and the Poverello Center before moving to Missoula Manor. She was very active at the Manor, helping to make hats and mittens for hundreds of Head Start children each year, as well as helping with the raffle for the Endowment Fund and other activities.
She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Long of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and Sharon Hanlon of Warrenton; her four grandchildren, Krystl Long, Connor Hanlon, Aidan Hanlon and Brenna Hanlon; her sister, Mary Lindee of Marysville, Calif., and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Kelly; a sister, Dorothy Larson; her brother, William CHATFIELD, and her parents.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life sometime this summer at the Missoula Manor.
