Her (Maisy's) devoted husband, Leslie, passed away on December 15, aged 88.
The couple's daughter, Lin Ballard, said the pain of not being able to celebrate their wedding anniversary together was too much for her father to bear.
"If ever it were possible for a man to die from a broken heart, then our dad did," said Lin.
Her parents would have celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary on January 8.
Instead the second of the two funerals was held on January 6.
At his wife's funeral on November 24, Leslie had told family and friends: "Peg was and always will be my guardian angel. I can't put my love and devotion to my darling Peggy into words."
The couple met on a blind date at The Nag's Head pub, in Wimbledon, set up by Peggy's sister.
They fell in love and married in January 1944 in Colliers Wood, south London, while Leslie was home on leave from the RAF.
Lin, 60, has fond memories of her parents. She said "When I started hairdressing at 14 mum was my model. She spent hours in rollers while I impatiently waited for her hair to dry.
"Mum came to my rescue and bought me my first hairdryer, paying the Co-op man each week."
Although Peggy suffered health problems later in life, Lin said her mother always had a good sense of humour.
She said: "Before mum had her cataract done we were waiting at the bus stop and she put her arm out for the dust cart. We were laughing so much we almost missed the actual bus."
Paying tribute to her father, she added: "Dad loved his family above everything else.
"He loved Christmas, especially when we were young. Mum had to stop him waking us up at four in the morning."
