Will of Honor Caines [1751-1815] of Hazelbury Bryan Dorset
Will dated 20 September 1815 - Proved on 20 February 1816

This is the Last Will and Testament of me Honor CAINES of Hazelbury Bryan in the County of Dorset, spinster as follows.

I give, devise and bequeath unto John CAINES the son of my late brother Aquilla CAINES his Executors and Administrators the sum of two hundred pounds of lawful English money.

Also I give and bequeath to Maria Sophia CAINES the daughter of Martha and Robert CAINES her Executors and Administrators the sum of fifty pounds of like lawful money and also my best feather bed, bedstead and furniture, my chest of drawers, two silver tea spoons and a pair of silver sugar tongs.
Also I give and bequeath unto Samuel, Ann and Susanna CAINES, the son and daughters of the said Robert and Martha CAINES their Executors and Administrators the sum of twenty pounds each of like lawful money.
Also I give and bequeath unto the said Samuel CAINES a feather bed and a large silver table spoon.
Also I give and bequeath unto the said Ann CAINES a large silver table spoon.
Also I give and bequeath unto George CAINES son of the above named John CAINES his Executors and Admininistrators the sum of twenty pounds of like lawful money.
Also I give and bequeath unto Betty CAINES the daughter of my late brother David CAINES her Executors and Administrators the sum of twenty pounds of like lawful money.
Also I give and bequeath unto Mary the daughter of my late brother William CAINES and now the wife of Alexander BARRETT her Executors and Administrators the sum of twenty pounds of like lawful money.
Also I give and bequeath unto William CAINES and Thomas CAINES the sons of my said late brother William CAINES the sum of ten pounds each of like lawful money.
Also I give and bequeath unto Elenor CAINES the daughter of my late brother Benjamin CAINES the sum of five pounds of like lawful, money.
Also I give and bequeath unto the above named Betty CAINES and unto Martha the daughter of my said late brother Aquilla now the wife of Robert CAINES all that my leasehold dwelling house, garden and premise situate and being at Milborne Abbas in the said county of Dorset, to hold to them the said Betty CAINES and Martha CAINES their Executors and Administrators and assigns for all my Estate and interest herein and hereunto as tenants in common and not as joint tenants.
And all the rest residue and remainder of my real and personal Estate and effects, goods, chattels, monies securities for money or of what nature or whatsoever the same may be which I shall be possessed of interested in or entitled unto at the time of my decease. I give devise and bequeath the same unto the said Martha CAINES the daughter of my said brother Aquilla, her heirs, Executors, Administrators and assigns. And I do hereby nominate and appoint the said Martha CAINES sole Executrix of this my Will, hereby revoking all former Wills heretofore made.
In witness whereof I have to this set my hand as my Last Will and Testament contained in two sheets of paper, set my hand and seal, that is to say the first sheet hereto and to this the last sheet my hand and seal this twentieth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifteen.

Signed, sealed and published and declared by the said Honor CAINES the Testatrix as and for her Last Will and Testament in the presence of us who have subscribed our names as witnesses hereto the interlineation between the eleventh and twelfth lines in the first sheet of 'unto the said Samuel CAINES ' being first made.

On the twentieth day of February one thousand eight hundred and sixteen the within written Will of Honor CAINES deceased was proved by the Oath of Martha CAINES, wife of Robert CAINES of Hazelbury Bryan in the County of Dorset Yeoman the lawful niece of the said deceased and sole Executrix herein named to who administration of all and singular the goods, chattels and credits of the said deceased was granted, she being first duly sworn well and faithfully to administer the same to exhibit a true and perfect inventory thereof into the Registry of the Court of the Archdeaconry of Dorset and to render a just account therein when thereto lawfully required and that the whole of the goods, chattels and credits of the said deceased do not amount in value to the sum of eight hundred pounds.
