Irene M. Teske, age 88, of Princeton, died early in the morning on Saturday, March 21, 2015, at the Berlin Memorial Hospital after a 2 ½ year battle with cancer. She was born on March 18, 1927, in Williams, MN., the oldest of four daughters to Hollis and Mamie (Piper) Chatfield. Irene graduated from Westfield High School and married Lyle Teske on April 4, 1945, in Westfield. They moved to Princeton in 1950, and still reside in the first home they bought.

Irene worked at the Handcraft Co. in Princeton for 36 years, retiring in 1989. In her early years, she loved to sew and make Easter outfits for her girls. She enjoyed plants and always had a green thumb. Most of all she loved walking with her husband, Lyle, until her health declined. She enjoyed following the Milwaukee Brewers. Irene was the best wife a husband could have and loved her children and grandchildren. She was a very loving and caring person where the needs of others came before her own. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Princeton for over 60 years.

Irene is survived (two weeks short of their 70th wedding anniversary) by her husband, Lyle Teske of Princeton; son, Gary (Arlene) Teske of Pardeeville; daughters, Sandy (Harold) Gassen of Redgranite, Debbie (Bill) Murkley of Ripon; grandchildren, Jill (Chris) Wilson, Kevin Murkley, Lance Teske, Josh (Val) Gassen, Tyler (Heidi) Murkley, Jenny (Joe) Dudek, Ericka Teske; 8 great grandchildren; sister, Patsy (Roger) Buchholz of Amnity, OR.; cousin, Jimmy of Friendship, WI.; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gust and Mattie Teske; sisters, Alberta, Bonnie; 3 brother-in-laws and a sister-in-law.

Irene's wishes were to be cremated and no funeral services. The family will celebrate her life at a later date.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Princeton Ambulance Service, Berlin Memorial Hospital for their care and concern; especially to Colleen Hein, for all of her comfort and help. Thank you dad for taking care of mom until the end, you loved her so much. She will be in our hearts forever. We know you are in heaven mom, because He only takes the best.
