Our mother was born May 26, 1919 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the daughter of Arthur Kelsey and Naomi Felt Chatfield. Karlyn was raised in Lehi, where she married her childhood sweetheart, Milton W Russon on September 19, 1940 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He passed away April 10, 1997.

Karlyn was educated in Lehi and attended The Brigham Young Academy. Devotion to her husband, children and faith dictated Karlyn's priorities her entire life. She lovingly stood by her husband's side in their many church duties. Karlyn served as Temple Matron of the New Zealand Temple, Stake Relief Society President, Mission Mom in the Southern Australian Mission, and teacher. Additionally, Karlyn served as District Governor of La Sertoma.

Our mother will be greatly missed by her five children and their spouses: Milton W Jr. (Becky), Kolene (Ken) Webb, Brent (Dianne), Scott (Sherry) and Paulette (Nephi) Bierwolf; her 27 grandchildren and 30 great grand-children. Also survived by a loving brother Kelsey (Lois) Chatfield; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Robert (Josephine) Chatfield; Dale and Mava Russon, Leo and Esther Russon. Preceded in death by her husband, brothers Spencer and Robert and an infant sister, Barbara.

Funeral services held Monday, November 3, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. in the Val Verda Second Ward Chapel, 2651 South 500 West. Friends called Sunday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main and 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the services.
